6’1” and 33 year old male here.
I’ve been lurking for about a year now. I recently got up to 253 pounds and decided to make a change when my wife told me she was concerned about losing me. For some reason, this clicked with me and I decided it’s time to change.
The biggest thing for me was FINALLY changing my diet to eat healthy! I’ve lost weight in the past, but it was always from over-exercising. I would still eat fast food daily but just run more to counter it. Of course that weight loss was never sustained and always came back when the exercises stopped.
But this time I completely turned around my eating habits and now meal prep every week and don’t touch fast food.
My best advice for people looking to lose weight is that it really does happen in the kitchen. I always heard this but ignored it, and just exercised more. I was wrong.
I still have about 15 pounds to lose to get where I want to be, but seeing the number start with a “1” feels really good.
