Hi pals, I've lost 14kg through CICO over the past 8 months or so. About 3 or 4 months ago I had a very light period and then it stopped completely. I've visited my doctor and had tests and ultrasounds and we've come to the conclusion that it's from the weight loss and have shocked my system by suddenly starting exercise. I currently run 5km most weekdays and 10km on the weekend, but my doctor is recommending that I stop running (Or cut down to 10km across the whole week) and possibly up my calories as she's concerned that my low oestrogen levels can lead to osteoporosis. I'm also low in iron and b12. Has anyone else dealt with this? Do I need to take a break from losing weight and/or change to a different exercise routine until I get my period back? I do really enjoy running and was hoping to train for a half marathon soon.
