Every day, brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our country. But how do we support them? Well, John Quinones, host of What Would You Do?, wanted to see firsthand.

With the help of actors, he took a trip to Military City USA (San Antonio, Texas), where grocery shoppers encountered a veteran who was struggling to pay his bill. You won’t believe the response he got in return…

Time and time again, people offered to pay his tab…some even went the extra mile and gave him some more money. Every little act of kindness helps, especially those for men and women who have worked to protect the U.S.

For Jim, a 92-year-old war hero who was wounded in battle three times, caring for animals is the most rewarding career of all. After starting the Saint John Ambulance Therapy Dog Movement 50 years ago in Ontario, Canada, he never stopped dedicating his time to animals in need. But in all that time, he never got to visit a zoo.

The staff at one Ontario zoo decided to make that dream come true one day by inviting Jim in for an afternoon of fun.

How cute was he with that lion cub? It doesn’t get better than that, folks. War vets devote their lives to serving others, so it’s important that we always give back.
